Voted the “world’s best new golf course” following its re-opening after renovation in 2014, the Els Club has gone from strength to strength. The unbelievably scenic layout in the north of Langkawi meanders through the rainforest and down to the turquoise Andaman Sea. Given the undulating nature of the terrain, the front nine here is rather flat, but the dogleg par-5 8th is an absolute beauty. Highlights of the hillier back nine include the 16th where giant overhanging trees make the route to the green on the approach tricky.
